HOW TO GET THERE

the best-known routes depart from Verbier and Fionnay.

Departure from Verbier:

On the heights of the station you will find the alpine pasture of La Chaux which is accessible  by cable car. Several paths cross the plateau, follow the small yellow signs "cabane de Louvie"
You will borrow  then the famous Sentier des Chamois for a 3h30 walk along the hillsides, opposite Les Combins. Arrived at Col Termin, lower your head: you can already see the fish! From this point it's downhill, but take out your poles; the knees may be a little heady.

Departure from Fionnay:

Fionnay is located at the bottom of the Val de Bagnes, 20 minutes by road from Le Châble. The start of the Louvie trail is opposite the car park, on the left, when arriving at Fionnay. Count about 2 hours of walking and 800 m of elevation  to reach one of the cabana's lounge chairs.
A day can be enough to travel Verbier – Louvie – Fionnay or vice versa.

The post bus  (schedule here) is a good way to reach Fionnay.
